When it comes to your event—whether a wedding, intimate gathering, or larger production—our goal is to take the stress out of planning from afar. Based locally, we collaborate with our trusted vendors to ensure your event unfolds with grace and perfection, no matter the occasion.

Courtney, owner and designer behind Sunset Soirée, brings meticulous organization and creativity to every event. She limits the number of bookings each year to give each one the personalized attention it deserves. With her well-established systems and an amazing team, Sunset Soirée ensures you experience the very best that Sayulita and the Riviera Nayarit have to offer.

Originally from Toronto and raised in the U.S., Courtney spent much of her childhood in Arizona before earning a degree in Business Management from Arizona State University. Seeking adventure, she left the U.S. in 2005, eventually settling in Costa Rica, where she met her husband, Storm.

In 2009, Courtney and Storm moved to Sayulita, where they’ve lived full-time ever since, running a variety of businesses, including a boutique hotel, rental home, small grocery store, and bar. They are also co-founders and managing partners of Festival Sayulita—a five-day film, music, and lifestyle festival. Courtney’s expertise also extends to film production, where she’s also worked as a local fixer, coordinating everything from accommodations to logistics for still and video shoots.

Courtney’s true passion is planning weddings and special events. Whether organizing a wedding, a fundraiser, or a festival, she remains calm under pressure no matter what Mexico, the weather, or unexpected event tries to throw at her. Her fluency in Spanish and close relationships with local vendors make her an invaluable asset when bringing your vision to life.

With years of experience, repeat partnerships with local vendors, and a dedicated staff, Courtney and the Sunset Soiree team are here to ensure that your event—whether a destination wedding or something entirely different—exceeds your expectations.

Step by Step with Sunset Soiree

  • Scouting

Whenever possible, it's ideal for clients to come to Sayulita before their wedding. Once here, we will scout and find the perfect venue to hold your event. Then, I'll introduce you to the best caterers, florists, and photographers in town. You’ll get to know the vendors I trust and who will fit the style and budget of your wedding. This is your chance to see first hand what Sayulita has to offer and how to make it align with your vision.

If you're unable to make it before the big day, I act as your eyes and ears, maintaining communication with you so you feel as comfortable and as confident as possible with the choices we're preparing for you.

  • The Pretties

Through email, WhatsApp, phone calls, and Pinterest, we’ll collaborate to bring your vision to life. Whether you imagine lush floral arrangements, delicate string lights, or elegant table settings, I’ll guide you through each design decision.

With a creative eye and a passion for the details, I’ll help you select everything from the lighting and flowers to the décor and layout, making sure every element complements your style and enhances the beauty of your day.

  • The Budget

Creating your perfect Sayulita wedding begins with a thoughtful and personalized budget that reflects your dreams and priorities. Together, we’ll ensure your money is spent on the elements that make the biggest impact.

If managing payments from abroad feels daunting, I'm able to handle them for you with trusted local vendors, keeping you informed throughout. With thoughtful planning, we’ll create a wedding that feels both beautiful and effortless, all within your budget.

  • The Orchestrator

As your coordinator, I’m there to take care of every aspect of your event’s execution, allowing you to focus on enjoying your time with friends and family in this stunning beach setting.

You chose a destination wedding to relax, not to worry about setting up chairs or managing vendors. From setup to vendor deliveries, event cues, and logistics, I’ll be on-site from early in the day, coordinating every detail.

My goal is to ensure everything flows seamlessly, so you can be fully present in the moment, knowing the day is handled from start to finish.

Soy Yo

Left handed Capricorn (aka The REAL Me)

Things I love: old school planner, yellow gold, tacos for breakfast, lunch and dinner, coconuts, the color turquoise, palm trees, margaritas, my husband Storm, my daughter Rebel, Maybelline Great lash (in the pink tube), making lists on paper so there’s satisfaction when I cross something off, Haviannas, sunshine, wavy hair, painted toes in the sand.

I have a fine eye for detail - sometimes it’s the little things you never thought of that make you and your guests feel at home and safe. I’m creative and artistic—I love taking a client’s vision and making it a reality. I’m open to all types of design: Mexican fiestas, beachy, tropical, boho, modern, industrial. I love the challenge of bringing a vision to life.

I’m spontaneous and quick on my feet and mind. S#!& happens and I pride myself in being able to react to situations when they arise in a calm, relaxed and clear-headed manner. To make quick adjustments or changes when needed as life (and events) continue on.

Those aspects—matched with a love for design—are what makes me invaluable to my clients. With your guidance, I will create an event that represents you, your partner, your relationship, and future together. I can’t wait to work with you.
